WIG! A 20th CENTURY TRANSLATION OF HAIR! THE MUSICAL
(Nov 7th-10th, 2019)

WIG™ is a very queer and modern TRANSlation of Hair the Musical! Updated from 1968 New York City to the experimental Eastside Portland drag world of 2019, the show has a modern political context and is cast entirely from the Portland drag community. This re-imagining focuses on centering gender nonconforming experiences, undoing anti-blackness in the queer community, fighting for PIC abolition and housing justice, creating our own queer family structures (through drag and otherwise), and surviving the precarity of queer life and art under capitalism. Queer liberation has never been this groovy!
